CLUB BULLETIN

Thursday 2 April 2020

Dear Members,

We thank you in anticipation for your cooperation and understanding of the need to play within the rules outlined below concerning golf on the course. The following will be monitored and along with any changes in Government directives will be amended to suit as required.

GOLF

We are pleased to advise that Golf will be able to resume at the Club from Monday 6th April 2020 as follows:

  • Members Only
  • All Social Play - no competitions
  • Tee times from 9am - 4pm daily, must be booked via timesheets (Miclub)
  • Gates will be closed at dusk daily
  • Maximum 2 people per group
  • Carts are not permitted - this includes Club and private carts. The Club has taken this position with the intent to provide essential exercise and the use of carts doesn't align to this intent.
  • All Play must have a booking via the timesheets (Miclub), no booking, no play.
  • Pro-Shop will be accessible Friday and Saturday 9am - 4pm to collect or restock on equipment and to take phone bookings for members without access to online bookings
  • A Starter will be on the tee Sunday - Thursday  9am-4pm to ensure no congregating, assist in order of play and to collect $5 social round fee (with the Pro Shop collecting the $5 on Friday and Saturday)
  • All payments of the $5 fee per round are to be tap'n'go
  • To ensure access for all a maximum of 18 holes per day.
  • A Marshall will be on the course from 9am-Dusk policing social distancing, members only and ensuring no congregating
  • Complimentary hand buggies are available for those members who normally cart and require to use a hand buggy
  • Scorecards may be collected from near pro shop entry door
  • Strictly no alcohol to be consumed on the course or at the premises
  • Plain clothes police are visiting golf courses to ensure compliance in regards to Government requirements (groups of 2 or less, 1.5m apart etc)
  • All Practice Areas (Practice putting green, chipping areas, nets and practice range) are closed except for 1 on 1 tuition with a member of James Single pro shop staff.
  • Timesheets will be open for 1 month in advance
  • Toilets - on course and locker room toilets will remain accessible. There are no shower facilities.
  • No bubblers or fountains - please bring own water and food.
  • Clubhouse and amenities are closed.
  • Preferred lie in all bunkers - no rakes, please smooth with club or foot after playing shot.

The intent is to book a game, arrive only just before your game, play and then exit the premises.

It is our recommendation that members over the age of 70 adhere to the Government recommendation to self isolate for their health and safety.

Any member found to be breaching the rules in place will be subject to disciplinary action and may be directed to leave the premises.

GOLF PRIZES

Please note the normal expiry period of prizes on members accounts is not being actioned. Any prizes on accounts will remain in place for spending for upto 12 months after the date normal Clubhouse trading resumes.

MEMBERSHIP FEES

Many members have asked will the monthly payments continue to the end June. The answer is yes as the membership is an annual commitment. The Board are considering what can be done for the end June renewals and what offers may be provided to members for periods of play lost to Covid19. Further announcements will be made to this regard.
