Women’s Captain Information
First to the THANKYOUs.
The results of our competitions do not get done without work behind the scenes at home and in the computer room downstairs. Lyn Somers, Lyn Sentence, Suzanne Savage and Julie Robbins are the faces you will see as you walk past on your way to the Women’s Locker Room. Please put your head in the door and say thanks! Women’s Golf is running seamlessly with their support. Thankyou Lyn, Lyn, Suzanne and Julie.
Women’s Championships 2024.
There are exciting changes this year set in train by the outgoing committee. To allow ALL women members the opportunity to compete in the main event on our competition calendar (without needing to take leave from work) the format has been changed.
Round 1 will be played on Saturday and Wednesday. Round 2 will be played on the following Saturday and Wednesday. The first day played in a round will count towards the Championship score. There is no restriction as to who can play in either of the days and a player may play , for example, on Wednesday for Round 1 and then Saturday for Round 2. The Final Round will be played on a Sunday with the top 6 in each grade having a seeded draw in 3s as normal.
Pin positions for each round will be similar.
I hope that all Women Members support this initiative in August/Septmber.

Rules Homework
Did you all know it is very easy to quickly find a rule when on the course if you have the R&A Rules of Golf App on your phone! Your homework is to download this App and explore the Players Rule Finder.
Penalty Area Pegs. Please note that these are IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS! Therefore, they cannot be taken out if they interfere with your shot. If your ball is OUTSIDE the Penalty Area you may take free relief as per Rule 16.1. (When you have downloaded the R&A App you can look this up!). If your ball is INSIDE the Penalty Area, you must play it as it lies or take a penalty and drop as per Rule 17.1d.
Local Rules. Did you know that the Local Rules can be accessed on the MiScore App when you are out on the course. To find them choose Menu (top right of screen), and then scroll down.
