club imageHole in One! Congratulations to Shannon Dawson who had a hole in one on the 5th hole on Saturday 26th. As reported by Deb Wallace, Shannon’s used her trusty 5 fairway wood from the tee, hit straight landing softly on the green & rolling into the hole for ONE!!!On behalf of the women’s committee, Shannon will be presented with a hole in one badge along with a hole in one embroidered shirt from the club.
Have you noticed the new sign post on the corner of the 18th green? It has now been erected showing visitors direction to the Pro Shop, 1st Tee, 10th Tee & 8th Tee.  A camera has also been installed on the

roof of the workshop for the pro shop to call & start groups.club imageclub image
Holes 2 & 16 will become permanent Compulsory Call Up Holes as soon as signs are completed. All members are required to call up if there is a waiting group at the tee. Compulsory is a requirement to do so, not a choice.Fridays are increasingly being reported as 5 plus hour rounds which is extremely frustrating. Before you tee off the first hole, it is advisable to wait a little longer until there are no more than two groups on the fairway. I urge all players to obey the call up hole signs on the 2nd & 16th and make every effort to keep up with the group in front.Did you know that any course we play being Black, Blue, Red, or Purple, the rules of course management say we have a margin of 100 meters to move the tee markers either way over 18 holes before it effects the rating. The 9th purple tee is now being used as it is within these measurements, the exception being championship & medal days or when a full red course is required.  Hitting from the purple tee still has it challenges, particularly with the longer hitters if they go right, but the averaged to higher handicap golfer loves the fact that they can now get to the top of the first hill rather than combating both hills. Mind you, still a very challenging hole.  Occasionally we may play a shortened hole or two which measures well outside of the 100-meter parameters. Following the guidelines of Competition Administration & Competition Conditions, it is highly recommended that we do not handicap as scores will often show improbable results. Embrace these occasional days, the great advantage is, your great scores will often win you a prize & you won’t be penalized a shot or two.

This is a fun 4 person Ambrose event with a twist. It is a charity day so all members including Social Playing & Limited members are invited to join in. If you need assistance with bookings, please contact me. There is a prize for the best dressed team.
4 Person Casino Royale Ambrose Rules:
– Each player is designated a number 1,2,3 or 4 (often already on the card). All players hit off the tee, then the dice is rolled. (Dice is only rolled for the Tee Shots)
The number of the dice is the selected shot i.e., 1 2 3 or 4.    If 5 or 6 is rolled, then the best shot is selected.
– All other players pick up their ball and place it within one club length of the selected ball. The golfer whose shot is taken is eliminated from participating in the next shot. This format continues until the ball is on the green.
– On the Putting green. All players may putt. Mark the selected putt, team members may then place their ball within one putter head length of the marked position, no nearer the hole. Once the ball is holed out, no further strokes count.
