Back To Back Division 1 Flags For Our Pennant Team
Congratulations to the Terry Davis captained Division 1 pennant team on winning back to back flags following their 3.5 to 2.5 win over Kew yesterday at Tuncurry.
Going into the match Kew were probably the slight favorites but the Port 1s knew they needed to get off to a good start and it was a good start with Stefan Walker winning 6/4 and Terry Davis having a square in match 1.
Then in match 2 Matt Rutter won 2/1 while Richard Went got rolled by 1 hole, this saw the Port team up 2.5-1.5 with 1 match to go.
That left the Port 1s needing to win 1 of the match 3 games and with Matt Saad being beaten 6.5 it came down to David Bagust winning and win he did 3/1.
Congratulations to the PortA team on the win, our PortB team finished a credible 4th.
The winning PortA team was Terry Davis, Stefan Walker, Matt Saad, David Bagust, Richard Went, Matt Rutter, Leon Smith and Eddie Coombes.

Men’s Pennants Results- round 3
Division 1a’s round 3 game was been moved to March 15th, so after round 3 they have had 1 win and a draw and have the catchup game, so they are right in the mix, Kew looks to be their danger.
Division 1b had a 3.5 to 2.5 win over Foster Tuncurry, to date they have had 1 win and 2 losses and are sitting in 4th spot.
Division 2 unfortunately went down 4/2 against Harrington, their record is 2 losses and 1 win and they to are outside the top 3.
The Division 3 team are on a roll, they have had 3 wins and lead Division 3 but Tallwoods and Wauchope are hot on their heels.
Division 4 has had 2 wins and a draw and has just got to keep winning to be in the hunt and fend off Tallwoods.
This coming Sunday is round 4 for all the PMGC teams 1, 2, 3 and 4, the draw is listed below-:
1a v Taree @ Tuncurry
1b v Wauchope @ Tuncurry
2s v Taree @ Wauchope
3s v Tallwoods v Taree
4s v Tallwoods @ Taree
